Hi! My name is Camila Moya. I am a passionate food blogger currently living in Montreal. I am originally from the Dominican Republic. I love my family, food, reading, traveling and fashion. My blog is dedicated to all the recipes I have come to cook and love since diagnosed with Crohn’s disease.
Moving away for college in 2010 brought a lot of changes as an individual. When I moved to Montreal to start my freshman year at McGill, I never imagined that independency would have such a great impact on my growth as an individual. During my second year, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s, an autoimmune disease. After many doctor appointments and a lot of research, I understood that I had to make necessary changes in my lifestyle so that I could have a better quality of life. The biggest change I had to make was in regards to what I ate. My Crohn’s diagnosis changed the way in which I experienced eating and cooking. I began researching different diets and adopting necessary changes in to my daily life. Since my diagnosis, nutrition has become an intrinsic part of my lifestyle and I started to watch cooking shows and apply this learning to my everyday existence.
Since my diagnosis almost 5 years ago, I have been able to experience life in a way many Crohn’s patients are unable to. I believe that learning how to cook and what to eat has helped me fight the symptoms of my disease. I have also been able to share my recipes, alongside with my experiences to other Crohn’s and Colitis patients as well as friends, who are looking to improve their nutritional choices or engage in a better lifestyle.
I wanted to post all of the recipes I have created, tried and loved as well as all the knowledge I have gained about nutrition throughout the years for others to learn and cook.
You will find paleo, gluten friendly alternatives to those all time favorite dishes for those who are fighting diseases or are simply looking for a healthier lifestyle…
